UN – MDG Advocats
Admitted as advocate to the UN goals for combating extreme poverty
In 2010 Ban Ki Moon appointed a number of advocates to fight extreme poverty.
My task in this context is to maintain focus on poverty reduction together with other advocates. This focus we ensure through the Millennium Development Goals:
Goal 1: Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
Goal 2: Achieve universal primary education
Goal 3: Promote gender equality and empower women
Goal 4: Reduce child mortality
Goal 5: Improve maternal health
Goal 6: Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases
Goal 7: Ensure environmental sustainability
Goal 8: Develop a global partnership for development
In this interview from 25. sep. 2014 you can here my perspectives on the UN Sustainable Development Goals
I encourage everybody to participate in the global UN-survey: MY World
You can read more about the goals and targets on UN’s official website.
Save the Children has released the report An Equal Start, illustrating the relationship between women’s status in society, their health and child mortality.
